Bellydance

Bellydance: the mother of all dance styles

I began bellydancing at 15 years of age under Sandra Hayes and Kelashi Bellydance, learning tribal style and improvisation techniques. I performed with Kelashi Bellydance at weddings, shows and events in Ireland as I continued training. I choreographed and coordinated bellydancers to perform at the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in 2006 and 2007, the first time bellydancers had been part of the Cork parade. Soon after, I began my Egyptian style bellydance training under  Adriana Echeveri, learning how to dance with the Wings of Isis and performing for the first time with them with Moondance Productions in the Firkin Crane (2006). It was at this show that I performed my Sword Ballet; a self choreographed fusion of pointe work and sword bellydance. I left bellydance for several years, coming back to it in 2014 to dance at the Zenith Cabaret, in Agadir, Morocco, with choreography by Mounia Dadi. I continue to freelance as a bellydance performer and teacher in London and recently competed in the London Bellydance Festival (July 2018).
